Recapitulation is a daily, self-directed practice from the Toltec lineage, used to revisit specific moments from personal history. It is traditionally done in silence, without speaking or interpretation, and works with memory as a way to interrupt internal repetition and disengage from unresolved experiences. The practice has been carried forward through various strands of oral and written transmission, and is used both in long-term personal work and lineage-based training.
This guide offers a complete structure for doing recapitulation independently. It includes background on the practice, instructions for building a memory inventory, detailed session structure, daily log format, and suggestions for optional review with a facilitator. It is suitable for those working with long-term memory accumulation, recurring dynamics, or stored responses that have not yet been named or released. No prior experience is needed. The process is designed to be done alone, at your own pace, over time.
Suggestion: Please book a debriefing or Coaching session to complement this work.
